lyrics

Chillin on my own time tryina recline
Pushin the whole world right up outta my mind
Rap game got it twisted. Oliver rhymes.
Folk turnin from the truth is a sign of the times.
Tryin to find another way to nickel and dime.
See the dollar's how the devil keep the niggaz in line.
Chickens'll shake it quick a lil liquor and wine.
Son I'm sick of the lyin. And yeah a lot of its mine.
But I'm finally tryina walk and talk the way I'm designed.
God says I'm divine. The man says I'm behind.
And regardless of artistry my card is declined.
Instead puffin the pine I should be waitin in line.
I should be payin off my warrants tryin to straighten my spine.
I oughtta wanna get my fam away from the grind.
But really all I wanna do is work on my shine.
This the life that I chose. We are poets and pros.

The beat goes on ya vision gets clearer
you get a little older the light draws nearer
wisdom whispers in my ear and I can hear her
starin at the world thru my side view mirror

starin at the world thru my side view mirror
starin at the world thru my side view mirror
wisdom whispers in my ear and I can hear her
starin at the world thru my side view mirror

I’m trying be a Christian which means I listen
Which means I chill and give you what I’ve been given
I’m trying be a father and husband so loving is
Part of my occupation plus I got patience
I’m trying be an artist that’s probably the hardest part
Holdin down a job divides and artist’s heart
I’m a technician cuz I love sifting
Thru the unnecessary to see where the truth is buried
Very laid back Only speak when it matters
Thoughts are frequently scattered when mirrors are being shattered
Keep it pushing pimpin even when it’s uphill
Sweat sweat blood and tears just chill
Baby till I'm dead from my head to my toes
The life that I chose is a poet’s fsho
And that’s how it goes from the first to the last
The mirror shows now not future nor past

The beat goes on ya vision gets clearer
you get a little older the light draws nearer
wisdom whispers in my ear and I can hear her
starin at the world thru my side view mirror

starin at the world thru my side view mirror
starin at the world thru my side view mirror
wisdom whispers in my ear and I can hear her
starin at the world thru my side view mirror
